OF LOVE AND STRUGGLE

Of love and struggle is the slogan of Pride Torino 2024.
The existence of the LGBTQIAP+ community, of all people who have an orientation, an identity and a sexuality different from the hetero-cisgender one, socially and culturally accepted and become the norm of sexual/affective life, is one of love and struggle.
For those who do not recognize themselves in heterosexuality and in the biological sex at birth, it is a daily struggle that comes from afar. We find ourselves struggling with ourselves, with a body that disorients us, with conflicting emotions, with impulses towards people of the same sex, we find ourselves struggling with a family that does not accept us, that does not love us for who we are and disowns us.
We fight in the streets, with dirty looks for a dress we wear that according to the law of normality belongs to the opposite gender to ours. We fight with the derision and insults of those who see us with a body and an identity that displace, outside the canons of gender and image. We fight with the attacks for a homosexual kiss under the house.
We struggle with a distorted, devaluing, stereotypical representation of ourselves in the media and in the erotic world.
Porn, intended for a male audience where their own genital arousal satisfaction is everything, is produced from a hetero-cisgender male point of view that does not care about diversity and the importance of consensual subjective pleasure. Women and in particular bisexual/lesbian/queer women and transgender people find space only if reduced to objects of ornament, in subordinate, passive roles, useful for highlighting the image of the star actor/actress of the scene, usually hetero and cisgender.
We fight because we too, together with women, are considered part of society with dignity and respect. We fight for the rights that others have and are denied to us. We love, we want to love, to show our free bodies, we want to be seen, accepted, protected and represented for what we really are.
We are people who live for love and struggle and that is why the Wallstone Dream exists.
